Many groups continue to meet on Zoom rather than in person so if you need self-help IT guidance, please refer to the page "Zoom and Technical" listed in the menu. If you cannot get this to work and need help over the telephone, please contact your Group Leader who can organise this for you.

Meanwhile here is a short video demonstrating the work of our Art group during lockdown.

Cirencester u3a was formed over 25 years ago, as part of the UK's u3a movement which aims to encourage those in their third age to come together and continue their enjoyment of learning, in subjects and activities of interest to them.

There is no minimum age for membership, but a focus on "no longer being in full time employment" or "raising a family".

Today there are over 1000 U3As across the country. Each is a self-funded informal learning co-operative, drawing on the strengths and enthusiasms of their members who share their knowledge and skills with each other. This results in a wide range of interest and activity groups from art to zoology with pretty much everything in between and plenty of social events and outings.

Although each local u3a is operationally independent, the movement is supported administratively and educationally by its national organisation, The Third Age Trust, which is also responsible for facilitating the growth of the movement through the development of new U3As.

As well as holding a monthly general meeting with a guest speaker, Cirencester u3a  currently supports around 50 interest and activity groups, and has over 750 members.

Twice a month we run an internet café session, and members are kept informed through a monthly newsletter and internet radio broadcast.

Our group co-ordinators are always happy to tell people about their particular activities, and details of each group are set out on the ‘Groups’ page.

Cirencester U3A's internet radio show is broadcast by Corinium Radio, normally on the first Thursday of the month, with repeats throughout the month. Please visit Corinium Radio's website for further details by following this link.
